Hybrid Working Environments are the New Normal
Let’s talk about learning how to manage your time and productivity in a hybrid working environment
Is your business having to adapt to the new hybrid working environment? Where your teams are sharing their time between the office and home office.
Pre Covid, working from home was for the select few who generally worked for themselves and had the benefit of flexibility with the time in their working day.
Working from Home was often seen as a last resort, as the general school of thought was that if people worked from home they would be unproductive and distracted.
Over the years many women and caregivers have asked for the option of a hybrid week – where they can come into the office for a few days and also have the opportunity to be home for their family while doing their work. It was always a solid no.
Now, since the decision had been made for us over the last two years, many have come to the realisation that in fact this can and does work!
This has now evolved into the HYBRID environment we now find ourselves in.
I have found many of my clients are looking for ways to get their teams to make the most of this new way of working. Finding better and more efficient ways to manage their time and productivity while working at home as well as being back in the office.
My latest workshop on this topic has been very well received and is assisting teams to implement simple and effective tools and principles to get the most out of their day.
Here is an example:
GIFT OF TIME
The commute to work and back each day is often the thief of time. So, on the days you are working from home what are you doing with this gift of time?
Remembering that we should always be working towards work-life balance you can use this time for yourself or your work.
Some examples:
Morning Routine – add more exercise or movement on those days. Enjoy the benefit of being able to go for a walk or get to the gym. Do that meditation you are always talking about. Pick up that habits book and read it!
Evening Routine: Use the time you would be traveling to spend some quality time with your family, partner, or pets – time you would not normally have.
Use the time to work on a project – whether it is for your work or your own passion project. You have an extra hour to focus your attention on something important. Use it wisely.
If you would like to get your team on track and make the most of the new hybrid environment. Get in touch with me and let’s see how I can help. We can run it in the office, virtually, or a hybrid of the two 😊
